Interactive Launch Competition Comes to The Cable Show 2014

Teams of MBA Students invited to compete and solve complex challenges impacting a multiplatform video and broadband world

WASHINGTON--()--Student teams from leading U.S. business schools will present business and marketing solutions to support the go-to-market deployment of advanced television and online video technologies during the "Interactive Launch Competition" at The Cable Show 2014.

The 63rd annual Cable Show, sponsored by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), is scheduled for April 28 to May 1, 2014 in Los Angeles. Presentations and judging are scheduled for April 28 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Sponsored by Interactive TV Works, the Interactive Launch Competition - a "launch-a-thon" of sorts - will bring together leading executives, top Master of Business Administration (MBA) students, and participating

A panel of industry experts will review the MBA student-developed solutions and award cash prizes to the top three teams to support their education. The audience will vote for an Audience Choice Award winner.

"The Interactive Launch Competition promotes innovative approaches to the launch and deployment of emerging television technologies and online video applications for consumers," said Craig Leddy, founder of the competition program, and President, Interactive TV Works. "The energy of the student teams and their penchant for new ideas should make our event a highlight of this year's show."

"The Cable Show 2014 is the perfect stage for this competition," added Barbara York, Senior Vice President, Industry Affairs, NCTA. "By engaging young innovative minds, and focusing on new broadband and cable services about to come to market, we expect some vibrant ideas to emerge, true to the tagline of our 2014 Show, 'Inspiration Everywhere!'"

The competition currently has two sponsors: ARRIS, a global innovator in IP, video and broadband technology; and Cisco Systems Inc., a worldwide leader in Information Technologies and broadband and cable solutions.
