AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The allure of a rare collector car auction will return to Seabrook’s Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance event this May, thanks to Motostalgia of Austin, Texas. Keels & Wheels Chairman Bob Fuller named Motostalgia as the official auction house of Keels & Wheels Concours, now in its 19th year, taking place at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook (just south of Houston). Motostalgia, one of the world’s leading catalog collector car auction companies, will present a limited, hand-picked selection of the rarest and finest cars including two Rolls Royce models that have not seen the U.S. market for more than 40 years: a 1933 Phantom II Club Coupe and a 1929 Phantom I Town Car - both a collector’s dream.
Motostalgia’s Founder and President, Antonio Brunet, announced that limited consignment availability is selling out quicker than anticipated. Some of the confirmed entries are on display at http://www.motostalgia.com/the-cars/. The average value of most consignments will be above six figures with a few valued at more than $1 million, but the focus is on rarity and exceptional quality of the entries.
“We’re thrilled to add this Concours d’Elegance event to our auction calendar,” stated Brunet. “Motostalgia has already procured an amazing selection of collector cars such as a vintage 1955 Porsche 356 PreA Continental Cabriolet, one of a handful in existence today.”
“When we learned about Motostalgia’s exceptional inaugural catalog auction in Austin last November, we knew we had to have them reintroduce a collector car auction to Keels & Wheels,” said Fuller. “A rare car auction brings a new crowd and a higher level of excitement to the entire weekend.”
Motostalgia’s Keels & Wheels Collector Car Auction will take place Friday, May 2nd beginning with a preview at 10 a.m. followed by a Preview Cocktail Party at noon. The auction runs from 3 – 9 p.m. Guest passes are available for $20; bidder packages are available for $200 (bidder plus guest) and $400 for VIP bidder plus guest. All bidders receive a 200+ page collector’s color catalog that takes readers on a journey of automotive history while displaying the assembled collection of cars offered for sale during the auction. Motostalgia produced the first catalog-style auction in the Austin area over F1™ U. S. Grand Prix weekend last November. That auction presented and sold one of the most extraordinary collections of cars assembled in the region including several one-off vintage race cars, a 1933 Duesenberg Model J “Queen of Diamonds” and a 1998 Ferrari F30 F1 Racing Car driven by Michael Schumacher in 1998. Part of a car and race enthusiasts’ dream weekend, the auction was precluded by a two-day exhibition of more than 85 of the rarest and finest collector autos at the Austin Convention Center, complete with celebrity appearances by actor Val Kilmer, performance artist David Garibaldi and the “Raging Bull” himself, former middleweight world champion, Jake LaMotta.
