LENEXA, Kan.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mediware Information Systems, Inc. announced today that its market-leading rehabilitation software product, MediLinks, received Inpatient EHR Modular Certification for Meaningful Use under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. This certification means the MediLinks software is compliant with the criteria adopted by the United States Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. The “meaningful use” certification for the MediLinks software applies to the inpatient acute care rehabilitation and acute care respiratory software products and represents the federal government’s “stamp of approval” for the MediLinks software.
“It’s crucial that inpatient rehabilitation and respiratory software products become ONC certified for Meaningful Use Phase 2,” said Thomas Mann, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mediware. “The fact that our products have already achieved this certification is another example of our industry leadership and further demonstrates our commitment to being the market leader for these products. Our customers rely on us to keep them in front of regulatory issues and this is another example of Mediware leading the way.”
Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or eligible hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using certified EHR systems are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.
“This EHR Module (Inpatient) is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments. MediLinks 2014, a Mediware Information Systems product, was certified on January 23, 2014 under certificate #0123014-2391-6. EHR Modular (Inpatient) certification included the following modules: 170.314(a)(3, 11); 170.314(d)(1‐3, 5‐8); 170.314(g)(1, 4).”
