BEATPORT — the World’s Largest Music Store for DJs — Announces Beatport Awards 2014

Voting Now Open

DENVER--()--BEATPORT, the world’s largest music store for DJs, has opened up voting for all Community Choice categories in this year’s Beatport Awards. The awards are aimed at recognizing the music and creative forces and labels that drove the evolution of electronic music culture in 2013.

Through Friday, February 28, dance music fans can cast one vote a day at beatport.com/awards for their favorite nominee in each of the following Community Choice categories:

  • Track of the Year
  • Artist of the Year
  • Label of the Year
  • Album of the Year

In addition to the fan-selected Community Choice awards, BEATPORT will reveal the winners of the following categories based on BEATPORT sales activity:

  • Best-Selling Original Track of the Year
  • Best-Selling Remix of the Year
  • Best-Selling Album of the Year
  • Best-Selling Compilation of the Year
  • DJ Choice Award (the track appearing on the most DJ charts)

Finally, a panel of experts and dance music veterans on the BEATPORT staff will select special honors for the following categories:

  • Track of the Year
  • DJ of the Year
  • Best Musical Collaboration
  • Best New Artist
  • Lifetime Achievement

All winners will be announced on Friday, March 7. More details on where to follow the winner announcements will be released as the date approaches.

“The richness and diversity of dance music culture is reflected in both its commercial success, as well as in the uniqueness of the artists, labels, and fans that support it,” said Clark Warner, Executive Creative Director of Beatport. “With that in mind, the Beatport Awards were designed to celebrate not only the best-selling music of the year, but also the most culturally relevant and creatively important developments in the dance music community.”
