LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fullerton City Council member Jennifer Fitzgerald was seated today as a member of the board of directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
Fitzgerald succeeds Thomas S. Babcock as the city’s representative on the 37-member Metropolitan board. Babcock had served on the board since September 2012.
Elected to the city council in November 2012, Fitzgerald is past president of the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce and former member of the board of directors of the Fullerton Historic Theater Foundation. She served previously on the Fullerton Planning Commission and the Fullerton General Plan Advisory Committee.
She is the founder and chief executive officer of CL7 Communications, Inc., a strategic communications firm specializing in political fundraising.
An active community volunteer, Fitzgerald serves on the board of directors of Fullerton Community Nursery School, is an adult fellowship president at First Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton and is a discussion group leader at the church’s MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) program. She also is a member of the West Fullerton MOMS Club, the Fullerton Elks Lodge, the Fullerton Chamber of Commerce and the American Legion Auxiliary.
A Redlands native, Fitzgerald earned a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Biola University, where she minored in biblical studies.
Fitzgerald and her husband, Sean, have two sons.
The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is a cooperative of 26 cities and water agencies serving nearly 19 million people in six counties. The district imports water from the Colorado River and Northern California to supplement local supplies, and helps its members to develop increased water conservation, recycling, storage and other resource-management programs.
