Pacific Life Foundation Grants $209,500 to 29 Local Nonprofit Organizations and Schools in Greater Omaha

OMAHA, Neb.--()--The Pacific Life Foundation announced today that 21 nonprofit agencies and eight K-12 schools serving the greater Omaha, Nebraska area will receive a total of $209,500 in grants. Throughout the United States, the Pacific Life Foundation will contribute $6 million in grants during 2014, a seven percent increase from 2013, and the largest annual amount provided by the Foundation since its inception in 1984. A large number of the grants are directed toward agencies supporting Omaha communities, where a significant number of Pacific Life employees live and work.

The Pacific Life Foundation’s 2014 grants will focus on supporting the areas of arts and culture; civic, community, and environment; education; and health and human services. 2014 grants will be awarded to the following nonprofit organizations in Nebraska.

In addition, the Foundation’s 3T’s of Education program will contribute grants to K-12 schools where there are concentrations of children or grandchildren of Pacific Life employees. A 3T’s of Education grant must be designated in one of the following areas: Teacher Training, Textbooks, or Technology. The eight schools that will be awarded with a 2014 3T’s of Education grant are:

  • Bellevue Elementary (Bellevue)
  • Conestoga High (Murray)
  • Millard West High (Omaha)
  • Omaha Central High (Omaha)
  • Omaha North High (Omaha)
  • Saint James Seton Elementary (Omaha)
  • Westside High (Omaha)
  • Wilma Upchurch Elementary (Omaha)

Annual funding of grants allows the Pacific Life Foundation to support a broad spectrum of community needs by partnering with nonprofit agencies that serve a specific geographic area. Contributions are made primarily to the communities with large concentrations of Pacific Life employees. Currently, Pacific Life has 285 employees working in its regional business center in Omaha, Nebraska. The Pacific Life Good Guys, an employee volunteer program, volunteered at 16 nonprofit events within the greater Omaha area throughout 2013.
