Rockwell Collins selects PrismTech's OpenSplice DDS to support its Tactical Air Control Party Modernization Program

OpenSplice DDS enables interoperability and real-time data sharing for mission critical command and control systems

BOSTON--()--PrismTech™, a global leader in standards-based, performance critical middleware, today announced that its OpenSplice™ DDS product suite has been selected by Rockwell Collins to support its latest Networked Joint Fires (NJF) software powered by Rosetta Technology®.

Rockwell Collins’ NJF software provides a modern, mission-centric graphical user interface, updated information exchange capabilities and integration with US and International defense forces in an all-inclusive, digital machine-to-machine close air support and surface-to-surface field artillery targeting solution, enabling interoperability with command and control and aircraft systems such as the Theater Battle Management Control System (TBMCS) and the Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS). NJF controls and monitors a host of tactical radios, modems, data links, navigation devices, laser range finders, and video receivers, enabling the modern warfighter to have a highly configurable tactical application for vehicular and dismounted strike and situational awareness mission operations.

PrismTech’s OpenSplice DDS is the leading (commercial and Open Source) implementation of the Object Management Group™'s (OMG™) Data Distribution Service (DDS) for Real-Time Systems standard. OpenSplice DDS has been designed to optimally address the real-time information distribution and management challenges posed by high performance real-time command and control (C2) systems. OpenSplice DDS sets new levels of performance, robustness, scalability, fault-tolerance and portability (platform support).

“The use of OpenSplice DDS in this important program once again shows that our continued effort in developing the best in class technology is helping users meet the demanding requirements for the next generation of C2 systems,” said Steve Jennis, SVP of Corporate Development, PrismTech. “We are very pleased that we could provide Rockwell Collins with the right combination of technology solution and business model to meet the needs of the program.”
