LOWELL, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Alere Analytics, an Alere subsidiary specializing in analytics and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) technology, announces that its Clinical Quality Measures (CQM) Services version 2.1 and Public Health Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) and Communication Portal version 3.2 have been tested and certified under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. This EHR software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
“Ensuring that patient data is securely captured, aggregated, and transmitted in real-time, as well as providing actionable information at the point-of-care is critical for meeting Meaningful Use requirements,” said Dr. Mansoor Khan, Sc.D., Chief Executive Officer of Alere Analytics. “Alere Analytics Clinical Quality Measures and ELR Communication Portal help our customers satisfy Meaningful Use Stage 2 by providing the necessary tools to support improved care coordination, comply with quality measure programs and enable real-time laboratory reporting to Federal and State public health agencies.”
Alere Analytics offers a patient-centric platform that provides a single view of clinical and claims data, eliminating discrepancies that occur with multiple systems and providing real-time analytics and reporting. Our quality reports calculate actual provider performance at any time in the calendar year to identify benchmark performance and potential gaps in care. Alere Analytics flexible, ad-hoc reports allow clinicians to fully customize their reporting needs to meet regulatory and Meaningful Use requirements, and can be delivered as real-time clinical alerts or as on-demand queries.
Drummond Group’s ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology – a key component of the federal government’s push to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.
Alere Analytics’ Clinical Quality Measures (CQM) Services version 2.1 and Public Health Electronic Laboratory Reporting (ELR) and Communication Portal version 3.2 met the requirements for Modular Inpatient and Modular Ambulatory certification respectively. The Public Health ELR and Communication Portal is a system which gives state departments of public health the tools to collect health data statewide from provider Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. The CQM Services solution allows providers to report on clinical quality measures required in order to demonstrate Meaningful Use.
“Leveraging information technology for healthcare initiatives provides the opportunity to deliver a high-level quality of care and efficiency which essentially benefits and enhances the overall patient experience,” says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group Inc. “We have been testing software for more than a decade and will continue to provide our extensive experience testing and certifying complex systems for multiple industries, as well as ensuring interoperability and security remain key components in the growing healthcare industry.”
These EHR Modules are 2014 Edition compliant and have been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
