REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aricent, a premier engineering services and software company, today announced the appointment of Hari Haran as its Chief Sales Officer, effectively immediately. Haran will report to CEO Frank Kern, and brings a proven track record of strong sales results and successful business development to his new role.

With close to three decades of extensive global experience in telecom, wireless, broadband, convergence and engineering services, Haran was most recently President and Head of Global Sales at Persistent Systems, Inc. During his five year tenure at Persistent, the company’s sales force, under Haran’s leadership, spearheaded substantial revenue growth. Prior to Persistent, Haran spent several years in a variety of senior sales, services and operations positions at companies including Openwave Systems, Lucent Technologies and Bell Labs.
As Chief Sales Officer, Haran will be responsible for driving all of Aricent’s global sales and business development efforts, and will be based in Redwood City, CA, the company’s headquarters.

Haran completed the executive management curriculum at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania as well as a MS in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He received his MBA from the University of Louisiana, Monroe, and has a BS in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
