OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--OpenRange, an Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) program that provides Oklahoma State agencies and affiliates access to shared IT resources, will have the first annual OpenRange RoundUp on Dec. 11 at the NCED Conference Center and Hotel in Norman, Okla. “OpenRange provides access to the combined purchasing power of all educational institutions and their affiliates, enables schools to provide existing technology services more efficiently, and provides the ability to expand those services quickly and cost-effectively,” said Alex Pettit, Oklahoma Chief Information Officer. “RoundUp will allow state affiliates and agencies to pow-wow on available state contracts. If enough affiliates participate, Oklahoma could see substantial cost savings of an estimated positive net present value of $8.3 million.”
The RoundUp will help to educate State of Oklahoma agencies and affiliates on shared technology resources and information technology procurement contracts with exhibits, breakout sessions, keynote speakers and networking opportunities.
Keynote speakers for RoundUp will include State Superintendent Janet Barresi, State Representative Jason Murphey and Mike Merrill, Director of Marketing for ReachLocal. Representative Murphey will discuss the importance of shared service opportunities for state and local government such as the OpenRange program.
