Internal Medicine Board Certification and Recertification Review provides a comprehensive and practical review of Internal Medicine. Aimed at physicians preparing for the American Board of Internal Medicine Certification or Recertification Examination, it is also appropriate for any physician seeking an intensive review of Internal Medicine. This activity covers primary care, every medical subspecialty, and selected outside specialties such as neurology, dermatology, and psychiatry.

Course faculty is comprised of esteemed UCSF clinicians and teachers, many of whom wrote or edited the McGraw-Hill review book First Aid for the Medicine Boards.

Target Audience

Internists who are preparing to take the ABIM Certification or Recertification Exam. This course is designed to actively engage participants and to provide optimal preparation for passing the exam and for Internists who desire to improve their patient care practice.

Learning Objectives

- Identify strengths and weaknesses in their own knowledge of internal medicine and successfully address these in preparation for the ABIM Certification or Recertification examination and for their ongoing clinical practice.

- Incorporate important evidence-based advances in clinical medicine over the past decade in clinical practice.

- Improve strategies to diagnosing, treating, and preventing important conditions in general internal medicine and medicine subspecialties for improved patient outcomes.

- Provide optimal care expected of a general internist for conditions in non-medicine specialties (e.g. neurology and psychology).

Accreditation

The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

UCSF designates this enduring material

for a maximum of 28.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Series Release: November 1, 2013

Series Expires: November 1, 2016

Estimated time to complete: 28.5 hours

CME credit is obtained upon successful completion of an activity post-test and evaluation, as well as payment of a $35 processing fee. CME Credit registration forms must be submitted prior to series expiration date.

Faculty for UCSF's Continuing Medical Education Program must complete a Declaration of Disclosure prior to the CME activity.
