MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Major landowners are joining forces with two of the city’s most innovative employers to create programs to reduce traffic congestion in the Bayshore Park and nearby areas of Mountain View.
Together, the groups will partner to form a new, nonprofit Mountain View Transportation Management Association (MTMA) to fund and operate programs that will improve the flow of local and regional traffic in conjunction with the city of Mountain View.
TMG Partners, a San Francisco based, private development company, is leading the MTMA effort in concert with its development of the new headquarters for Samsung Research America in Mountain View. The other founding members of the MTMA include Google; Intuit, Inc; and Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM).
As founding members of the Transportation Management Association, each member will contribute funds to launch and manage the organization and retain consultants to plan and operate improved transit for member companies and for the community at large. The MTMA will operate a publicly available, shared shuttle service connecting company campuses to VTA, Caltrain and downtown Mountain View. Denise Pinkston, Partner with TMG Partners, will serve as the MTMA’s chair.

Companies’ Efforts to Date
- TMG has developed millions of square feet of mixed use properties throughout the Bay Area and founded a similar organization in Emeryville, CA, more than 20 years ago with other companies. The MTMA is modeled on Emeryville’s work, including the popular free EmeryGoRound BART shuttle.
- Google is one of the largest private operators of transit services in the US and a major transportation systems innovator.
- Intuit offers several transit alternatives for its Bay Area employees including shuttles, vanpools and car share programs. The company has plans to expand its Mountain View headquarters location over the next three to five years and is investing in a comprehensive transportation demand management program.
- DeAWM is developing The Centre @ 700, a one million-square-foot office campus on East Middlefield Road in Mountain View.
The founding members have coordinated their planning with Mountain View city officials.
