BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CohnReznick Think Energy, LLC (CRTE), a consulting firm focused on renewable energy generation, today announced a groundbreaking engagement with NRG Energy (NRG) and major mobile telecommunications operator Digicel to support the development, acquisition, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects throughout the Caribbean region. CRTE will work with NRG and Digicel to deploy investment capital and bring financial and environmental benefits to the governments, utilities, and people of the Caribbean.
The types of projects being sought are primarily solar, but as CRTE President Mark Crowdis stated, “Understanding the right mix of technologies, from energy storage to wind systems to solar, is key in providing the greatest financial and environmental benefits to the region. Proven technologies with a track record of successful performance will be the cornerstone of this effort. CohnReznick Think Energy is honored and excited to be working with NRG Energy and Digicel on this unprecedented co-development opportunity.”
CRTE will manage a request for proposals process for NRG and Digicel to solicit property owners, developers, governments, installers, and others to provide information on renewable energy projects in development for possible investment. NRG and Digicel endeavor to co-develop, and/or acquire, construct, and own these projects for their lifetime. CRTE initiated this process on September 28, 2013 and project proposal will be due on November 15, 2013.
CRTE’s renewable energy expertise in the Caribbean includes working closely with Sir Richard Branson and the Carbon War Room as they launched a proposal to install renewable energy systems and reduce and/or eliminate fossil fuels on Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands.
In order to obtain a copy of a non-disclosure agreement and then the RFP, interested parties should send a request to rfp@crthinkenergy.com.
