BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Equity Office and Blue Outdoor are pleased to announce the pink illumination of Boston’s South Station to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In conjunction with the Philips global illumination relay, the façade of Boston’s largest transportation hub will be lit with pink LED lights on October 13th and 14th and intermittently throughout the month.
Philips’ Pink Around The World Campaign will illuminate approximately 100 landmarks globally and 12 sites in Boston. Blue Outdoor and Equity Office are thrilled to add Boston’s South Station to the campaign to raise awareness of the importance of early detection and regular screening and to help aid in funding international breast cancer research. The lighting is designed by Philips Color Kinetics, a division of Philips specializing in dynamic LED lighting systems. The digitally controllable LED lighting system has the capability of producing custom light shows from a palette of more than 16 million colors.

The first phase of South Station lights was installed in April of 2013, and the full installation is expected to be completed in early 2014.
