CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--This cold, cough and flu season (CCF) U.S. Alpine Skier Ted Ligety, 29, has partnered with Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) DayQuil & NyQuil to help him train for the chance to compete in the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, in Russia. As a winter athlete, Ligety trains year round and travels to frigid locations around the globe with no time to take off for a sick day. But if and when he catches a nagging cold, he depends on DayQuil to help him power through his worst cold symptoms during the day, and NyQuil to get to sleep with a cold.
“I love skiing and with it comes winter. I'm traveling the world year around chasing snow, training and racing. I'm often skiing in subzero conditions, pushing myself to improve,” says Ted Ligety. “Unfortunately, colds don’t take a break when I am preparing for a big competition and that’s why I need to rely on Vicks DayQuil & NyQuil to relieve my cold symptoms and help me on my path to Sochi.”
This winter Ted will be spreading this endurance message to Americans and encouraging them to power through anything winter throws at them. The newly formed partnership with Ligety celebrates the long-standing Vicks and P&G’s sponsorship of The Olympics – supporting athletes as they train to represent our country under arduous winter conditions.
“We are excited to be working with world class athlete, Ted Ligety, and while it is obvious he has no time for a sick day in his training, Vicks understands that no American has time for a cold to slow them down, either,” says Dave Tomasi, Vicks North America Marketing Director. “Harsh winter weather conditions can be brutal for anyone with a cold, and our hope is that all suffering will turn to both DayQuil & NyQuil to help them fight their worst cold symptoms this season.”
Ligety’s partnership with DayQuil & NyQuil will allow Americans to follow him as he prepares for The Games. To follow Ted as he trains, people should “like” NyQuil on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/NyQuil.
