BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has awarded Cambria Consulting a multi-year contract to provide executive coaching and organizational development (OD) services across the national space agency.
Cambria won the contract renewal as one of three exclusive providers of coaching and OD services to NASA. The contract renewal expands on a partnership that dates to 2004, when NASA selected Cambria as the sole source for coaching services with the launch of an agency-wide executive coaching program.
“We are honored to have the opportunity to expand on our partnership with NASA and to help build on the agency’s success at developing individual leaders and managers by also addressing the development needs of groups, teams, and the organization,” said Ellen Kumata, Cambria’s managing partner. “NASA is a leader among public and private sector organizations in recognizing the strategic value of coaching and OD to equip the organization with the skills, behaviors, and resources needed to achieve its mission,” added Kumata.
Executive coaching has been a critical component of integrated leadership and organizational development at NASA and is aimed at building breadth and depth among leaders.
“I have worked with hundreds of leaders at NASA and coaching is absolutely something that people come back to time and again as something that really made the difference in terms of becoming the leader that they want to be,” said Erica Bovaird, NASA’s Chief Learning Officer. “I am reminded how fortunate we are at NASA to have the people and resources support for this work — including such tremendous support for leadership development, organizational development, and coaching in particular,” Bovaird said.
Cambria is a leading innovator of the integration of coaching and OD services to help organizations implement strategy, navigate change, drive innovation, and impact business outcomes.
“The important evolution of coaching is about maximizing its strategic value and impact across the enterprise,” said Ellen Kumata. “In this regard, coaching goes beyond meeting the needs of individual leaders, to include helping an organization meet key challenges with the right mix of skills, behaviors, and resources across the leadership ranks,” Kumata added.
