HKTDC: What’s new for tiny tots – Hong Kong combined stand at Kind + Jugend in Cologne

FRANKFURT, Germany--()--When Kind + Jugend opens its doors tomorrow, there will once again be a combined stand organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). Located in Hall 11.3, E050, it will house 10 companies. The product range stretches from animated toys and baby carrying aids to baby clothing made of natural materials.

The fun figures and bathroom toys of Escabbo (E054) provide enjoyment with striking colors and designs made of environmentally friendly materials. The focus is on children learning at I-See Toys Industrial limited (E052), such as a keyboard for first musical steps. Emily Lai founded M2 International Group Limited (E050) for her newly born daughter to design handmade baby clothing in natural materials.

Knitwear and accessories for children are being presented by the Acute Sourcing & Manufacturing Company (F055). Wing On Wong’s King (Trade) Limited (E058) design and produce high-quality textiles for the nursery characterized by lovingly designed motifs in high-quality materials.

Babybelle Asia Ltd. (E056) offer parents a range of useful appliances to care for their babies, including milk-bottle warmers and inhalers. The branded products from Prominent Wing Limited (F059) include safety equipment such as stair guards or bathtubs.

Anyone wanting to transport their baby safely will find carrying frames at Wellplace Industrial Limited (F051). Tritime International Limited (E050) showcases its colourful range of kids watches. Dmark Metal Button Company Limited (F057) specializes in parts like buttons and clasps.

Toy exports from Hong Kong reached USD 3.84 billion in the first seven months of 2013 (- 3.3 percent). Whilst demand from China continued to grow (+ 4.2 percent), demand in the USA, Japan and Germany decreased. With imports of toys totaling USD 3.3 billion, Hong Kong achieved a growth of 2.3 percent.

Baby clothing exports also showed a decline of 16.8 percent to USD 226 million from 01-07/2013. In the USA as largest export market, demand fell by more than a third, whilst China was growing 83 percent. Imports of baby clothing to Hong Kong reached USD 152 million (-13.8 percent).

The HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, the largest of its kind in Asia will be taking place in Hong Kong from 6 to 9 January, 2014 parallel to the HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair.
