Exosite Selected as Microchip’s Embedded Cloud Design Partner

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Exosite (www.exosite.com) announced today that Microchip Technology Inc. (www.microchip.com) selected Exosite to be an "Embedded Cloud" design partner. The collaboration enhances Microchip’s Internet of Things solutions with out-of-the-box device management, remote monitoring, data analytics and data visualization capabilities.

"This design partnership means that the rich feature set available in our cloud-based analytical & visualization software is now available for products based on the developer-favorite 32-bit PIC32 microcontroller portfolio from Microchip,” said Hans Rempel, CEO of Exosite. “We are excited to introduce our Internet of Things ecosystem onto Microchip’s standard MCUs.”

“As Microchip’s presence in the embedded cloud space continues to grow, more of our customers are looking for ways to reduce design risk and time to market,” said Cheri Keller, senior manager of Microchip’s Design Partner Program. “With the addition of Exosite’s easy-to-use device APIs and Web dashboards, customers have a great way to evaluate our PIC® microcontrollers for various Internet of Things applications.”

The initial collaborations focus on Microchip’s M2M Development Platform for CDMA and the MRF24WG0MA agency-certified Wi-Fi module. The M2M Development Platform for CDMA is a Verizon-certified CDMA device that is a “drop-in-place” M2M solution leveraging the Verizon Wireless cellular network and Exosite’s cloud-enablement platform. The MRF24WG0MA Wi-Fi module is available for evaluation on the low cost DV102412 Demonstration Board which also includes Microchip’s 32-bit PIC32 microcontroller running a TCP/IP stack and Exosite’s C-ActivatorTM open source cloud-enablement library. Full source code and design files are provided for the solutions, making it easy for developers to create Internet of Things products using these off-the-shelf building blocks.
