FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) executives will speak at events this month in Berlin and Munich to highlight U.S. market-entry strategies for German IT companies.
On September 25 the FCEDA is sponsoring “Strategies for U.S. Market Entry: Opportunities for German ICT Companies.” The event at the Hilton Berlin will be presented by the Software Industrie Berlin Brandenburg (SIBB), the information and communications technology association of the German capital region.
On September 27 the FCEDA is sponsoring “Strategies for U.S. East Coast Market Entry,” which will be presented by the Munich Network, an association of technology companies, scientific research institutions, investors, consultancies and entrepreneurs. The event will be held at the organization’s headquarters in Munich.
At both events, Stefan Pommer, director of the FCEDA Europe office in Munich, and Jatinder Kaur Khosla, FCEDA business development manager, will highlight Fairfax County as the technology hub of the East Coast and an entry point for German companies seeking opportunities in the U.S. market.
Other highlights of the events:
- Carsten Kestermann of Software AG, which is based in Darmstadt and has its American headquarters in Fairfax County, will deliver a case study of his company's experience in the U.S.;
- Andy Steinem of the executive search firm Dahl-Morrow International, which is based in Fairfax County and has a presence in London, will speak on recruiting and retaining a U.S. management team;
- Sarah Russell and Robert Dutkiewicz of the tax and accounting services firm Clayton & McKervey, which is based in Southfield, Mich., and has offices in Fairfax County, will make a presentation on tax planning for the U.S. market; and,
- Alexander Klett and Thomas Fischl, counsel at Reed Smith, a law firm with offices in Fairfax County, Munich and London, will address legal issues surrounding business expansion to the U.S.
- At the Munich event, Nick Papadopoulos of u-blox, which is based in Switzerland and develops wireless and GPS technologies, will speak on his company’s U.S. experience. u-blox has offices in Fairfax County.
