Nexon to Bring Counter-Strike Online 2 to China

TOKYO--()--NEXON Co., Ltd. (“Nexon”) (3659.TO), a worldwide leader in free-to-play online games, today announced an agreement with Tiancity, under which Tiancity will publish popular first-person shooter (“FPS”) game Counter-Strike Online 2 in mainland China.

Developed by Nexon and based upon Valve’s Counter-Strike series, Counter-Strike Online 2 is the sequel to the phenomenally successful Counter-Strike Online, which has been a consistent top title in the Chinese market since its launch in 2008. The sequel also incorporates MMORPG elements with the addition of a new game mode – “Big City” – in which 64 users can play simultaneously.

“We are pleased to build on our successful partnership with Tiancity to deliver another installment of the highly successful Counter-Strike Online franchise to players in China,” said Seungwoo Choi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nexon Co., Ltd. “We think players will love the exciting new features offered in this sequel and look forward to continuing a productive relationship with Tiancity in the future.”
