Women in Manufacturing SUMMIT Heads to Dearborn, Michigan

Nearly 300 Attendees Expected at Third Annual Event

CLEVELAND--()--Nearly 300 leading women manufacturing executives, managers and supervisors from across the country will meet in Dearborn, MI, on October 22-23, 2013 for the Women in Manufacturing SUMMIT 2013, hosted by the Precision Metalforming Association (PMA). Designed exclusively for women who have chosen a career in the manufacturing industry, this third annual event provides a unique opportunity for participants to share perspectives and network with female executives in the manufacturing sector.

“What began as a small group of PMA members has grown into strong, powerful network of women from across the manufacturing sector,” said Women in Manufacturing Director Allison Grealis. “The Women in Manufacturing SUMMIT event is now the highlight of a calendar year packed with networking and mentoring programs and personal and professional development opportunities. The SUMMIT events have grown in size and scope and our third annual SUMMIT will be our largest and best one yet.”

SUMMIT 2013 builds off of the outstanding success of SUMMIT 2011 in Cleveland, OH and SUMMIT 2012 in Milwaukee, WI.

This year’s SUMMIT will include timely panel and roundtable discussions as well as valuable track sessions on topics including employee engagement, mentoring, networking, marketing, team building, online and digital training resources for manufacturers, and emerging issues in the manufacturing supply chain. There also will be stimulating keynote presentations and a networking reception and dinner.

General session keynote presentations will be delivered by representatives from Carhartt, Inc., Catalyst, Caterpillar, General Motors, Rasmussen Consulting, Toyota and Wyoming Machine.

In addition, attendees have the option to participate in plant tours of the GM Detroit Hamtramck Assembly Plant, Jiffy Mix, the Daimler—Detroit Diesel Plant, and Kars Nuts – excursions that are sure to be interesting and exciting.

“We are especially grateful to our SUMMIT sponsors,” continued Grealis. “Without their generous support, this year’s event would not be possible. Our sponsors show extraordinary commitment to the advancement of women in the manufacturing sector, something we know is good for women, good for business and good for the American manufacturing sector.”

The wide array of sponsors at this year’s event demonstrates the significance of the manufacturing sector across the American economy. This year’s sponsors include the Alliance for American Manufacturing, APPI Energy, the Association of Women in the Metal Industries, Century Metal Spinning, Epicor, EROWA, Hialeah Metal Spinning, Inc., The Manufacturing Institute, Mid West Fabricating Company, Plante Moran, Plex Systems, Sandvik Coromant, Schuler, TRUMPF, UPS, Waukesha® Metal Products and Zierick Manufacturing Corporation.
