Dohmen, a Milwaukee-based Life Science Services Company Announces Close of Building Donated to Family Promise of Washington County

MILWAUKEE--()--Dohmen CEO Cynthia LaConte announced today the close of a building donation. The building had previously served as the West Bend headquarters for its Restat division. The Dohmen Company Foundation donated the property and $150,000 to the Family Promise organization, to be used as a facility for non-profit agencies and apartments for families moving out of homelessness in Washington County.

“We believe the strength of any community lies in the strength of its people,” said LaConte. “Family Promise has strengthened low income families within Washington County by helping them achieve lasting independence from poverty. We’re delighted that we could help advance this important mission.”

“We’re so grateful for Dohmen’s generosity,” said Executive Director Kathleen Christenson. “This building will help provide a fresh start for individuals and families, and beginning in March will serve as offices for Family Promise and other excellent organizations including the Youth and Family Project of Washington County Inc., and Habitat for Humanity of Washington and Dodge Counties.”

Christenson said the first floor of the 17,000 square foot building will house the agency offices, the second and third floors will be converted into studio and two bedroom apartment units and the lower level will include a housing resource center, a day center, a wellness education room, as well as laundry and shower facilities,
