MEDIA ADVISORY: IINC Available This Weekend to Discuss Fire Evacuation, Insurance and Recovery

LOS ANGELES--()--As firefighters combat multiple blazes in Southern California, homeowners in hillside and brush areas are reminded of the importance of a family disaster plan.

With much of California facing severe fire conditions – high winds, low humidity and high temperatures – there is a potential for more fires.

The Insurance Information Network of California has staff available throughout the weekend and can arrange interviews with insurance companies to discuss household evacuation planning, fire insurance, California wildfire history and other recovery issues.

IINC has numerous resources available to help consumers prepare, survive and recover from natural disasters. Items include a list of toll-free claims phone numbers for major insurers in California; a disaster recovery page with information on creating a home inventory and settling disaster insurance claims and an interactive map showing wildfire risk county-by-county in California.

IINC is a non-profit and non-lobbying trade association dedicated to helping the public understand insurance and manage risk.
