CARPINTERIA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sometimes awesome things are made more awesome by adding ice cream. Enter the new Hand-Scooped Strawberry Pop-Tarts® Ice Cream Sandwich from Carl’s Jr.® Originally tested in April in a few Southern California Carl’s Jr. locations, the dessert item went viral with fan buzz on Twitter and Facebook, and went mainstream on local news and late night TV. Due to this popular demand, Carl’s Jr. proudly announces the Strawberry Pop-Tarts Ice Cream Sandwich is available tomorrow at all Carl’s Jr. locations.
Made by hand in-restaurant, the Strawberry Pop-Tarts Ice Cream Sandwich from Carl’s Jr. features hand-scooped, premium vanilla ice cream centered between a halved Strawberry Pop-Tart pastry.
“It’s very rare when a new menu item that is being tested in a small number of restaurants goes viral to the degree this one did, but that’s exactly what happened with the new Hand-Scooped Strawberry Pop-Tarts Ice Cream Sandwich,” said Brad Haley, chief marketing officer of Carl’s Jr. “The idea of it just seemed to capture people’s imaginations and it’s one of those things that just brings a smile to everyone’s face when they hear about it, if not a downright swoon in some cases. So, really, we had no choice but to make it available for all Carl’s Jr. customers to enjoy.”
