SpineVision® Inc. Appoints Former Wright Medical Exec Ken Yamada as Chief Operating Officer

Company also reports opening a new subsidiary in Germany

ANTONY, France--()--SpineVision®, a commercial-stage medical device company that designs, develops and markets products for the surgical treatment of spine disorders, announced that Ken Yamada has joined its U.S. subsidiary as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

SpineVision also announced that it has established a new subsidiary in Düsseldorf (Germany) in order to expand commercial growth in Europe.

“Ken Yamada is a senior executive with a strong track record of success in the medical device and surgical specialties, specifically in orthopedic/spine and neurological global markets,” said Arnaud Brisard, CEO. “He joins SpineVision Inc. after more than two years with Wright Medical Technology, where he served as Vice President of International Operations. Previously, he had several executive positions within the medical industry for more than 17 years. He will lead SpineVision’s General Management and Sales Management efforts for our U.S. subsidiary. Ken brings substantial skill sets to SpineVision, and we expect him to make an immediate and significant contribution in support of our business’ growth throughout North America.”

As a result of establishing the new subsidiary in Germany, Mr. Danny Severens has been promoted to Sales Manager, Northern Europe. In addition to his current responsibilities as Country Manager for Benelux, Mr. Severens also will be responsible for the development of SpineVision’s sales network in Germany.

In May 2013, SpineVision announced that it had raised $10 million from new and existing investors for expansion of existing commercial operations, primarily in the U.S. market, as well as for growing commercial activities throughout Europe.

SpineVision® recently received CE marking for its new generation Flex+2TM dynamic stabilization rod. In addition 510(k) approval has been granted for a range of surgical instrumentation focused on a minimally invasive approach to treating conditions related to aging and degeneration of the spine.

In addition to Germany, SpineVision® has operating entities in France, Italy, Benelux, the UK and the United States, complemented by distribution agreements in several other territories, including emerging markets. The company posted double-digit revenue growth in 2012, with strong growth continuing in the first half of 2013, validating the attractiveness of its new product portfolio.
