ZURICH & LUGANO, Switzerland--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Partnering for Global Impact® 2013 will kick off in Lugano, Switzerland, July 10–11. The second edition features welcome remarks by Percy Barnevik, Chairman, Hand in Hand International and Honorary Chairman, Partnering for Global Impact Advisory Board and Filipe Santos, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Academic Director, INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Initiative.
Headlining the 2013 program are three distinct keynote addresses. The first will be given by Sir Ronald Cohen, Chairman of Big Society Capital, known to many as "the father of social investment." A second keynote will be given by Iris Bohnet, Professor of Public Policy, and the Academic Dean of the Harvard Kennedy School, followed later in the day by Dr. Kiran Bedi, founder of Navjyoti and India Vision Foundation.

The event will feature a dynamic program with over 30 presentations, two plenary sessions examining impact investment infrastructure and how development finance institutions are utilizing impact investment tools and panel discussions that cover housing, agriculture, water and health.
Partnering for Global Impact and Fidelity Worldwide Investment, in collaboration with the HUB Zürich, has selected the Fidelity Future Impact Prize finalists for 2013. They are:
- Bloomtrigger, Brazil – James Sutton;
- Blue Lotus Energy, India – Gopala Krishnan;
- BringBee, Switzerland – Stella Schieffer;
- Ffene, Uganda – Titus Mawano; and
- Pragulic, Czech Republic – Tereza Jurečková.
These five top social entrepreneurs will compete for the Fidelity Future Impact Prize award before a prestigious jury panel made up of Iris Bohnet, Professor Public Policy and Academic Dean, Harvard Kennedy School; Filipe Santos, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship, Academic Director,INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Initiative; Alfred Strebel, Managing Director, Switzerland, Fidelity Worldwide Investment; Ashish J. Thakkar, Founder and Managing Director, Mara Group and Mara Foundation; and Dr. Peter A. Wuffli, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, elea Foundation. The award will go to the project with the greatest potential to become a social impact solution for the future.
Last year’s first prize winner, SwissLeg, received the main prize of CHF 12,500, followed by Ruby Cup in second place with an award of CHF 7,500, and the third place award of CHF 5,000 went to VIVUS. The 2012 edition was attended by 300 delegates from 202 companies who engaged in 447 one-to-one meetings facilitated by partneringONE®. The conference was the first partnering event for the social impact space, and was considered highly successful by attendees and organizers.
