BATH, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The figures from My Favourite Voucher Codes make good reading for charities around the UK, as a total of £3,150.60 was raised by the website in the year ending March 2013.
The voucher codes website was launched in March 2012 to raise significant sums of money for charities each month by donating 20% of profits. The first month of business didn't generate profit for My Favourite Voucher Codes, but a £50 donation was still made to Cancer Research UK. Since then, the business model has proven successful, with over £3,100 donated over the next 11 months. September 2012 was a record month for My Favourite Voucher Codes as £606.27 was raised for the Royal Mencap Society.
To ensure that the donations are given to the people that need it most, site visitors vote for their preferred charity in a poll on the home page. The website currently supports nearly 100 charities, but visitors can recommend a charity if it's not listed. And it's not just major charities that benefit from these donations, but also smaller ones, such as Whizz Kids and Against Child Abuse.
In order to help consumers save even more money and increase charity donations, My Favourite Voucher Codes created a browser extension app for Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, which alerts consumers when there are voucher codes or offers available for the retailers they visit.
