DEERFIELD, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CF Industries Holdings, Inc. confirms that an incident occurred at its Donaldsonville, LA, nitrogen complex at approximately 6 p.m. this evening. The accident occurred in a section of the plant that had been shut down for maintenance activity. At this time, the company is able to confirm there was one fatality and there were seven other injuries.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our employees.”
The incident involved the rupture of an inert nitrogen vessel during the off-loading of nitrogen. There was no fire or chemical release nor is there any threat or hazard posed to the community.
Local company employees are working closely with emergency services personnel. An investigation into the root cause of the incident is underway.
