Former U.S. Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta to Speak at his Alma Mater Santa Clara University

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Leon and Sylvia Panetta, founders of the Panetta Institute for Public Policy in Monterey, Calif. will be honored with an honorary degree at Santa Clara University’s 162nd commencement ceremony on June 15, 2013.

Leon Panetta, the former U.S. Secretary of Defense and a 1960 magna cum laude political science major and 1963 graduate of Santa Clara University’s School of Law, says the campus is where he first met his wife and learned the core values that have helped shape his career.
