SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LifeNexus announced today that it has launched its new iChip® technology which enables individuals and their doctors to easily and securely access relevant personal health information at the time of care.
Accessing health information data sources, such as claims, eligibility, care gaps, and more, iChip® synthesizes information to create a personal health record for each individual. When an individual presents their iChip®-enabled insurance card and access code to their provider at time of care, a secure and encrypted communications channel is created. An individual’s personal health information is automatically retrieved utilizing cloud technology and presented in a format that fits the provider’s workflow. Personal health information including medical history, prescriptions, allergies, hospitalizations, advanced directives and more is provided in a personal health record format that can be viewed, printed, or exported into the provider’s EMR. Custom messaging, such as care gaps, can be incorporated into the personal health record to highlight preventative and evidence-based medicine treatments that are missing for each individual. iChip® technology also verifies the individual’s insurance eligibility and coverage prior to care which streamlines administrative costs for both the doctor and the health plan.
Through a member portal accessible 24x7, individuals can view and manage their own personal health record, conveniently organize their online healthcare resources, and gain access to other health tools and services offered through their health plan. Caregivers can also manage dependent records which make facilitating care for others much easier.
