Commentary
Global equity markets rallied over 3% in April, with improving corporate profits amidst mixed global economic data. Developed markets outperformed emerging markets, with strong gains in Japan and Europe. A strong dollar and weak commodity prices pushed emerging markets lower, with a negative return of 0.8% for the year. The Fund’s Asian investments were strong, with JPMorgan Japanese (+17%) and JPMorgan Japan Smaller Companies (+12%) led returns. The Fund’s EM investments also performed well, highlighted by Turkey based holding company Sabanci Holding (+5%).
