comForte and DataOne Thailand ran well-attended workshop on best practices implementing PCI-DSS for HP NonStop systems

WIESBADEN, Germany--()--comForte Asia Pte. Ltd. and DataOne Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. ran a successful PCI workshop for HP NonStop users in Thailand. A guest speaker from Verizon Enterprise Solutions talked about PCI from an auditors and forensic analyst’s perspective.

Representatives from all HP NonStop users in the Financial Industry in Thailand were present and learned about PCI DSS in Asia, PCI best practices for HP NonStop systems and how to embrace the PCI challenge by implementing a suitable project, procedures and software solutions.

'We are very pleased with the level of interest from the attendees in the PCI workshop', says Thomas Burg, CTO of comForte 21 and one of the speakers. 'It shows that PCI has arrived in Thailand and that organizations are working towards achieving PCI compliance. Based on the success of this workshop, we are considering running similar events in other regions’.

Ashish Thapar, Verizon Enterprise Solutions’ Head of Global Consulting & Integration Services, comments: ‘Insights from Verizon’s Data Breach Investigations Report were welcomed by attendees, who were keen to understand more about data breaches, and how associated risks can be minimized. Verizon’s DBIR offers an insight into the nature of cybercrime and data breaches around the world. In addition, there were many questions about PCI DSS scoping and compliance best practice, and how this could help organizations develop a holistically secure environment for their business operations. Clearly, PCI DSS compliance is right at the top of the agenda for banks in Thailand.’

Amy S. Vajropala, Executive Director, Systems Integration Strategic Business Unit, DataOne Asia, adds: ‘PCI DSS has got the attention from Thai Banks. By having joined this workshop they received first-hand information about how we can jointly help customer’s organization to ensure the safe handling of cardholder information at every step. The keystone is the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), which provides an actionable framework for developing a robust payment card data security process – including detection, prevention, direction and appropriate reaction to security incidents.
