Top Pennsylvania Casino Operator Proposes World-Class Hotel/Casino Destination for Prince George’s County

BENSALEM, Pa.--()--Maryland Casino LLC today submitted an application with the State of Maryland Video Lottery Facility Location Commission to develop an $800 million world-class hotel, gaming and entertainment venue in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The resort will be conveniently located on a beautiful 22 acre parcel in Fort Washington, Maryland at the intersection of Indian Head Highway and Old Fort Road. Maryland Casino LLC is a subsidiary of Greenwood Racing, Inc., owner and operator of Pennsylvania’s highest revenue-generating casino, Parx Casino.

The entertainment complex, which will be branded as Parx Casino Hotel & Spa, will feature 4,750 slot machines and 170 table games, accompanied by a 250 room hotel and the convenience of a connected parking structure for 5,000 vehicles. In addition, Parx will offer best-in-class branded restaurants and bars and lounges, along with a multi-purpose theater that will showcase exciting live entertainment performances.

The proposed development is expected to create more than 5,000 jobs and $1 billion of annual economic benefit to the state upon completion, along with approximately 5,000 construction jobs and more than $600 million of economic benefit during the construction phase of the project. In addition, the casino operation is projected to generate more than $400 million of gaming tax revenue for the state and local communities.
