HOLLYWOOD--(BUSINESS WIRE)--America and its allies send men and women - many of them young - to war. Oftentimes these young people are subjected to harsh conditions, and separated from their friends and families, they can suffer bouts of depression, along with physical injuries. Many soldiers find the healing power of laughter provides a way to cope with their experiences.
Laugh Factory is supporting these troops by bringing a smile to their fellow soldiers as well as to the individual warrior. A purchase of a Laugh Factory YouTube paid channel - at 10 cents a day - will prompt Laugh Factory to match that subscription with a donation to a wounded soldier somewhere in the world.
Since laughter is a universal language, the Laugh Factory extends its reach to include not only soldiers from other countries, but talent worldwide. To achieve this goal, the Laugh Factory is launching the World Cup of Humor, inviting comedians from United States, Canada, UK, Japan, France, Australia, Spain, Korea, Brazil and Russia to submit their material for a chance to win a trip to the World Famous Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California. Each comic with the most votes from his or her native country, will be flown to Los Angeles, to perform on the same stage that has been graced by Dane Cook, Dave Chappelle, Richard Pryor, Tim Allen, Russell Peters, Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, and other major talents.
Many wounded warriors will be in attendance and mass media coverage will be in full bloom.
“This is a chance for anyone with a good sense of humor to be seen by people all over the world. With YouTube, people who only heard about the great comics can now see them and even get a shot at performing with them! There are no restrictions on the submissions; we welcome all types of humor, not just polished stand-up comedy. The most important thing is to make everybody laugh,” says Jamie Masada, Founder & CEO of the Laugh Factory. The winner will receive the World Cup of Humor filled with cash, and the exposure of a lifetime.
