WATERBURY, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Going back to school and earning your college degree is one of the most important ways to sell yourself and accelerate your career. But there are other important aspects to selling that we encounter daily in our lives. Perhaps no one has explained this better than Daniel Pink in his new book, “To Sell is Human,” which has vaulted to the best-sellers lists of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post.
Pink’s premise, which he discussed during a recent interview on Post University’s blog, is that we are all salespeople, whether you have a traditional sales job or not. Consider: You sell your capabilities and skills to prospective employers in job interviews. You persuade your company to launch a new marketing initiative. You convince your children to brush their teeth. Every one of us is selling in our day-to-day.
To help raise awareness about the importance of being able to sell, persuade, and motivate, Post University has just launched a cartoon caption contest on its blog inspired by Pink’s book and interview. Dave Blazek, "Loose Parts” cartoonist and contributing cartoonist to Post University’s blog, has created a new comic that pokes fun at learning how to be a better salesperson. But he’s left off the caption. That’s where you come in! Post University’s judges are challenging you to devise the cleverest caption that will sell them on picking you as the winner of this cartoon caption contest!
The person who submits the best caption will win bragging rights and a prize package that includes:
- A copy of “To Sell is Human” by Daniel Pink
- A t-shirt printed with the cartoon and winning caption
- An original 8.5" x 11" colored print of the cartoon with the winning caption, autographed by Dave Blazek, and suitable for framing
So put your thinking cap on and visit Post University’s blog now to enter the cartoon caption contest. The contest runs now through May 22, 2013 at 12:59 p.m. EDT. Winners will be announced on Post University’s blog.
