Georgia’s Innovation Crescent and Chuncheon Bioindustry Foundation Sign Memorandum of Understanding at BIO 2013

CHICAGO--()--The Innovation Crescent Regional Partnership (www.innovationcrescent.com) and Chuncheon Bioindustry Foundation (www.cbf.or.kr) announced today they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), formally agreeing to support each other in the development of life sciences in Georgia and South Korea. The agreement is specifically targeted at promoting human health.

With the signing of the MOU, the two organizations agree to be supportive of collaborative research and development, information sharing, education, and other areas that provide the building blocks for innovative and cutting-edge life science industries. Georgia’s Innovation Crescent has been a leading example of successful life science clusters since 2008, featuring more than 400 life science companies, non-profit organizations, universities and government agencies that work together to advance the industry.

“This agreement represents the culmination of four years of relationship building between Georgia’s Innovation Crescent and South Korea’s Chuncheon Bioindustry Foundation,” said Nick Masino, Chairman of the Innovation Crescent Regional Partnership. “We began talking at BIO 2009 and, this year, formally agreed to work together to further life science economic development in both areas of the world.”

“Through today’s MOU signing, sincerely, we hope to establish a new business partnership model between Georgia and Gangwon in the fields of biotech and pharma business,” said Mr. Siwoo Lee, president of the Chuncheon Bioindustry Foundation.
