FALLS CHURCH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CSC (NYSE: CSC) has introduced a new self-service portal for its cloud subscribers to ease management of CSC cloud services across an enterprise, supporting CIOs who want to empower IT and non-IT staff to utilize the cloud.
The CSC cloud portal unveiled today incorporates an easy-to-navigate interface that allows end users to provision, onboard and manage CSC cloud services from a single dashboard without needing to develop the technical skills required typically to manage IT infrastructure. By logging in to a secure account, users can easily select services from CSC’s global catalog, ramp up and manage cloud projects through dashboards, and apply the appropriate levels of cybersecurity protection to individual cloud workloads by selecting from CSC’s different tiers of managed cybersecurity services.
CSC has integrated CA Technologies tools including, CA Automation Suite for Clouds, CA Nimsoft Monitor and CA SiteMinder®, to build the new portal. CA Automation Suite for Clouds provides the ability to quickly and efficiently deliver cloud services. CA Nimsoft Monitor provides enhanced monitoring capabilities, allowing users to view server performance data and the availability of cloud capacity. CA SiteMinder bolsters the cybersecurity of the portal and makes it possible for users to log in to all of their CSC cloud accounts using a single sign-on.
“With this portal as the gateway to the CSC Cloud, we are leveraging the CA Technologies cloud management stack to enable end users to manage cloud projects independently, without the need to develop the technical expertise or rely on an IT administrator to allocate, subscribe and start or stop cloud services. We believe this approach will be the centerpiece of the next-generation managed cloud, where CIOs will provide end users with access to all of the management capabilities, metrics, measurements and security that they need to quickly leverage the cloud,” said Eli Almog, CTO, CSC Cloud Services.
CSC’s new self-service portal supports next-generation cloud computing by enabling clients to automate workflow approvals for cloud project requests and connecting virtual machines to external or Internet-facing networks. These features are integral to promoting an environment within enterprises that encourages cloud use in a transparent, organized and efficient manner.
“Providing a self-service utility to end-users for accessing cloud, what may be described as the 'IT vending machine' model, is entirely possible so long as it is underpinned by a single, self-service portal,” said William Fellows, Research Vice President, 451 Group. “Cloud services delivered in this manner will enable IT organizations to focus on innovating for the business rather than simply keeping the lights on.”
