DermOne Dermatology Centers Expands into Virginia

Expanding Network Adds the Dermatology Practice of Dr. Gerald C. Burnett

TOMS RIVER, N.J.--()--DermOne Dermatology Centers announced today its expansion into the state of Virginia, adding the private dermatology practice of Gerald C. Burnett, M.D., to its rapidly growing network of neighborhood dermatology centers. Located in South Boston, Virginia, Dr. Burnett has served communities throughout southern Virginia since 1973. As a DermOne partner, Dr. Burnett will continue to provide medical and surgical dermatology services at his current location, but with additional resources and management services provided by DermOne.

A Virginia native, Dr. Burnett attended the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington and the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in Richmond, Virginia, earning his M.D. in 1966. He interned at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, and returned to MCV for residency training in internal medicine and dermatology. From 1970-1972, Dr. Burnett was Chief of the Department of Dermatology at McDonald Army Hospital, Fort Eustis, Virginia, serving as a Major in the US Army Medical Corps. Dr. Burnett specializes in medical and surgical dermatology, and has treated more than 40,000 unique patients during his career.

Dr. Burnett is an active member of his local, regional and medical communities, having served on the Virginia State Board of Medical Examiners, the Virginia Medical PAC and the Medical Society of Virginia, as President of the Virginia Dermatological Association, Halifax County Medical Society and Masters Dermatologic Association, and as Deacon of the First Baptist Church in South Boston.

“We’re excited to announce that Dr. Burnett has joined the DermOne team. The union is mutually beneficial—we’ll reach a greater number of patients and benefit from Dr. Burnett’s expertise, while his new and existing patients will benefit from the added resources that DermOne can offer,” said Ron Geraty, M.D., CEO of DermOne.

“I look forward to offering my patients a whole new level of innovations and services as a DermOne physician,” said Dr. Burnett.

Matthew Dubai, a family nurse practitioner with more than six years of dermatology experience, will be joining Dr. Burnett’s practice, effective immediately. Both Dr. Burnett and Mr. Dubai are actively accepting new patients. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 434-572-6780.
