Elsevier’s Security Executive Council Risk Management Portfolio Now Available

New titles published by Elsevier provide proven, practical information for corporate and academic security and risk management programs

ISC WEST 2013

LAS VEGAS--()--Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, and Security Executive Council (SEC), a leading research and advisory services firm for risk mitigation solutions, today launched Elsevier’s Security Executive Council Risk Management Portfolio at ISC West in Las Vegas. This new content equips executives, practitioners and educators with proven information and practical solutions for successful security and risk management programs. Ten titles are now available in the portfolio with 15 more planned for later in 2013.

The new portfolio provides real-world solutions and “how-to” guidelines that executives, practitioners and educators can use to implement and teach proven physical and digital risk management strategies and tactics, written by SEC subject-matter experts including industry-recognized practitioners and leaders. Elsevier’s Security Executive Council Risk Management Portfolio makes all of this research-based and rigorously vetted information available to non-Council members.

The portfolio includes a variety of content types including trend reports and proven practices, such as:

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) to Work
By Bob Hayes and Kathleen Kotwica

Managing Risks in Business
By Jerome Miller and Radford Jones

Other content types include:

  • Practical playbooks on the essentials of setting up a new program
  • Concise research reports on key industry issues
  • Trend reports
  • Comprehensive baselines
  • Guidelines that provide frameworks to build new solutions
  • Books that provide more in-depth examinations of key topics
  • Short topic-based articles.

“This new partnership will enable better distribution of applied materials created by the Security Executive Council to academic institutions,” said Greg Niehaus, Professor of Finance and Insurance, Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina. “Academic institutions will be able to more easily connect the theory with the practice of risk and security management.”

“Elsevier saw an opportunity to collaborate with SEC to bring their high-value content to more corporations and academic institutions that can benefit from it,” stated Suzanne BeDell, Managing Director of the Science & Technology Books group of Elsevier. “Bob Hayes, Kathleen Kotwica and the team at SEC impart unparalleled knowledge in their research and solutions. By publishing the content they write in a new way, we are able to round out our security collection and bring greater emphasis to risk management.”

Elsevier’s Security Executive Council Risk Management Portfolio is the newest addition to the broader Elsevier Risk Management & Security Collection, which provides executives, practitioners, and educators with essential resources for risk management, security leadership, digital forensics, IT security, physical security, homeland security, and emergency management.

The titles can be purchased individually on the Elsevier Store or as a collection on ScienceDirect.
