KYOTO, Japan--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Faith, Inc. renowned for developing ringtone technology in Japan, has released an English version of 'Pictures at an Exhibition' (for iOS) to game app site 'iGameBook' on Wednesday, March 27 as part of its plans for global expansion of the site.
'iGameBook' (hereinafter iGB) is an app portal site featuring smartphone and tablet based gamebooks, which enjoyed worldwide popularity in the 80's. Gamebooks are a form of role-playing game in which the book's story unfolds differently dependent on the choices that readers make.
You can also cheat-play at iGB, where their concept is "Read, Play, and Cheat", all while enjoying the unique features that apps make possible, such as item management and voice audio. Currently, Faith is focusing on its releases of Japanese language versions of the global hit series 'Grail Quest' on iGB.
The current release, 'Pictures at an Exhibition', is gamebook created in Japan that features a motif based on the famous classical music piece of the same name. In the Japan edition of gamebook magazine 'Warlock', the Japanese release has been a long-time favorite, holding first position in reader's polls. On iTunes in Japan, the Japanese version of the app, which was released last year, achieved popularity scores of 3rd place in the book category, and 17th place in all categories.
Faith is planning to release about 100 titles of next-generation content for smartphones and tablets in the coming year on iGB. Android content is also being considered in addition to the iOS content.
