Top Women Tech Executives Will Discuss Careers, Lessons Learned at NAPE Institute

WASHINGTON--()--Three of the technology industry’s top women executives will discuss “Lessons Learned on the Pathway to Corporate Success” – one of the highlights when The National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE) holds its 2013 Professional Development Institute.

To be held April 15-19 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Washington DC-Crystal City (300 Army Navy Drive, Arlington, VA), NAPE’s Professional Development Institute – this year entitled “Igniting Innovation: Access, Equity, and Diversity” – is the premier professional development event for educators and advocates dedicated to removing barriers to equal opportunity in education and the workforce.

“Lessons Learned on the Pathway to Corporate Success” will feature presentations by Joni Blakeslee, Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs, Cisco; Pat Elizondo, Senior Vice President, Xerox Corporation; and Monica McManus, Vice President of Information Technology Services, Lockheed Martin Corporation.

The panel – during which the three leading women executives will reflect on the experiences, both personal and professional, that hindered and helped them attain their level of business success – will be held on Tuesday, April 16, from 10:45 a.m. – noon.

“These women have broken through glass ceilings and changed the conversation,” says NAPE Chief Executive Officer Mimi Lufkin. “Attendees will learn how they did it and what lessons they can take away to ensure that more barriers are overcome and underrepresented students become represented business professionals in the technical fields of the future.”

The panel immediately precedes the Institute’s keynote address, to be presented by Stephanie C. Hill, President of Lockheed Martin’s Information Systems & Global Solutions-Civil product line.

Interested individuals can attend Tuesday’s morning panel, luncheon keynote, and the afternoon reception for $190. The cost for the luncheon keynote only is $70. For more information, contact NAPE at 610-593-8038 or visit www.napequity.org.

NAPE’s Professional Development Institute equips participants with innovative strategies and tools to implement practices aimed at igniting access, equity, and diversity. The Institute also allows attendees to network with educators, advocates, and others to discuss the impact of public policy on education and workforce development programs.
