Panini Announces Availability of Latest Panini Vision API

Includes Support for Windows 8 Operating System

TORINO, Italy & DAYTON, Ohio--()--Panini, a global payments technology provider, today announced the availability of its latest Panini Vision API (4.1.0). This latest version of Panini’s API introduces new image management capabilities on all Panini scanners, increases the performance of the Panini Vision X®, enables asset management and performance monitoring via Panini Avantor and includes support for the Windows 8 operating system (OS).

Panini’s latest universal installer includes Windows 8 certified drivers that have been rigorously tested to ensure OS compatibility with all Panini products. "It is important that our customers, partners and users running Microsoft’s latest operating system can seamlessly operate Panini devices with no service interruption,” said Michael Pratt, Chief Marketing Officer at Panini.

The new API increases the throughput of Panini Vision X scanners, allowing up to 125 documents per minute, to effectively reduce overall transaction processing time. Enhanced support for an optional UV-capable front image sensor in the Vision X is also included in the release, adding additional fraud protection capability by capturing images using ultraviolet light. Panini Vision API 4.1.0 features enriched imaging handling capabilities, including optional parameters that allow for additional processing (image rotation, auto deskew, etc.) on captured images to help customer applications better handle unique processing conditions.

This API release is the cornerstone for device management capabilities supported by Panini Avantor. The scanner management software platform provides comprehensive capabilities in the areas of professional asset management, device performance optimization, and payment device security. Panini Avantor allows financial institutions and businesses to better manage their distributed capture devices while optimizing overall cost of ownership.

“Panini Vision 4.1.0 is a decisive step forward in our continuous innovation program, incorporating the industry-leading reliability, innovation and performance customers expect from Panini,” stated Pratt.
