Harvard Business School Executive Education Program Helps Participants Create Top Tier Talent Management and Development Strategy

Program will focus on how to identify and retain high-proficiency employees, growing leadership and diversity from within a company that compliment business goals and strategy

BOSTON--()--Harvard Business School (HBS) will host an executive education program, Driving Performance Through Talent Management (www.exed.hbs.edu/programs/dptm/Pages/default.aspx), from May 5–10, 2013 on the HBS campus. Designed for human resource executives and general managers, the offering will explore strategies and best practices for identifying and managing high-performers while cultivating leadership, across all levels, from within a company.

"This course presents a valuable opportunity for executives to reexamine the importance of their company's human capital and the corporate culture contributing to how that talent is managed," said Das Narayandas, James J. Hill Professor of Business Administration, Senior Associate Dean and Chair of Executive Education and Publishing. "By understanding the relationship between individual performance and corporate performance, participants in Driving Performance Through Talent Management are challenged to rethink their current infrastructure and implement purposeful strategies for rewarding performance and retaining talent."

Driving Performance Through Talent Management will present research and case studies that specifically address employee communication and management, leadership development, identifying workforce needs and improving strategies for company diversity.

Participants will also complete a survey prior to entering the program which will identify the obstacles unique to each participant’s business model. The contents of each Driving Performance Through Talent Management session will be informed by a pre-program survey and directly address specific needs and challenges faced by each executive. This approach fosters a collaborative environment, allowing ongoing engagement with expert faculty while working alongside industry peers facing similar yet unique challenges.

The program aims to underscore the importance of building valuable and long-lasting relationships with employees and creating an environment which rewards and encourages high-performers.”

Faculty lectures, panel discussions and assessment tools will create a dynamic learning environment that emphasizes group participation that is elevated through real-world insight using renowned HBS case studies.
