OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--A.M. Best Co. has released the latest installment of the Insurance Law Podcast, a series that examines timely insurance issues from an attorney’s point of view.
The latest episode features attorneys David McMahon and Jack Pierce from the law firm of Barger & Wolen LLP, with offices in California, New York and London, who will address insurance issues that the cruise line and travel industries may face in the wake of the recent fire and power outage aboard Carnival Cruise Lines' Carnival Triumph in the Gulf of Mexico.
Discussion topics include insurance coverage issues surfacing for passengers trying to opt out of future trips due to the cruise industry’s recent bad publicity, as well as the risk of personal injury suits being filed. Also discussed are the types of insurance a cruise line must carry and how this will change moving forward, and the impact cruise industry issues and insurance litigation might have on other types of leisure travel.
