MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Coupons for Change, the philanthropic arm of Coupons.com Incorporated, is kicking off its second annual Community Days, during which Coupons.com employees volunteer to fight hunger and homelessness in the Bay Area through InnVision Shelter Network (IVSN). On February 7th and 8th, hundreds of Coupons.com employees will spend the day volunteering and giving back at four different InnVision Shelter Network shelters. IVSN is the leading nonprofit provider of housing and supportive services for homeless families and adults in Silicon Valley and the Peninsula.
“Coupons for Change is dedicated to fighting homelessness and hunger in our community and committed to educating parents on how to create healthy, well-balanced meals for their families,” said Michele Boal, chief philanthropy officer of Coupons for Change and co-founder of Coupons.com Incorporated. “The Coupons for Change team has worked closely with InnVision Shelter Network to determine the scope of projects that will provide the biggest impact at their facilities. We look forward to going out as a company and rolling up our sleeves to create a warm, welcoming environment for the organization’s clients to show we care.”
Changing focus from work behind a desk to the task at hand, employees will engage in a wide range of interior and exterior improvements, including painting rooms and murals, knocking down walls, setting up computer facilities, installing flooring and lighting, landscaping, and preparing a special Valentine’s Day luncheon for mothers and children.
“Coupons.com continues to be one of our leading corporate partners in terms of both volunteering and financial giving,” said Jaynie Neveras, InnVision Shelter Network senior manager of community partnerships. “Their commitment to improving the lives of our clients is unparalleled, and we are grateful for the impact the Coupons.com team is making here in the Bay Area.”
Volunteering support will be provided at the following InnVision Shelter Network facilities:
- Commercial Street Inn, which provides emergency shelter for women and children, with support to secure permanent housing.
- Georgia Travis Center, which is a primary gateway for emergency assistance for homeless women and children and a safe place to help families get back on their feet.
- Julian Street Inn, which provides short-term emergency shelter to individual men and women diagnosed with mental illness.
- Montgomery Street Inn, which provides homeless men, including many Veterans, with emergency shelter, case management, employment assistance, and other supportive services.
