NEW YORK--()--Worldwide Investor Network (WIN) today announced the details of its highly-anticipated second ‘Funding the Best in Global Innovation’ event, aimed at bringing premier NYC-based investors together with some of the most promising technology startups from around the world for two days of mentoring, networking, speaker panels and startup pitches designed to identify and accelerate funding for the most promising participating startups.

Hosted in NYC, February 20-21, the event will showcase ten international technology startups from diverse geographies spanning Israel, the UK, Spain, South Korea, and the Netherlands among others, and provide them with intimate access to top venture capitalists, angel investors and family offices, with one-on-one mentorship from some of the most seasoned investors in the NYC venture community.

“Our inaugural ‘Funding the Best in Global Innovation’ conference in November 2012 – profiled at Xconomy.com – was a tremendous success by every measure, giving all involved in the WIN ecosystem a common platform to share their unique ideas and perspective, discuss business and funding strategies, and network among their peers,” said Eyal Bino, founder, WIN. “As we prepare to announce the successful funding deals yielded via the first event, the forthcoming February event gives us opportunity to accelerate our momentum and grow our ecosystem as we work together to help the ‘best of the best’ international tech startups secure the funding that elevates them to the next level of success. It’s going to be an incredible event.”

WIN’s February two-day conference will kick off with a keynote address from David Kidder, co-founder and CEO of Clickable and author of ‘The Startup Playbook,’ and will feature premier speakers from leading NYC investment firms including David Pakman (Venrock), Ben Siscovick (IA Ventures), John Frenkel (ff Venture Capital), Matt Truck (Bloomberg Ventures), Bruce Taragin (Blumberg Capital), Kirill Sheynkman ( RTP Ventures), and other top VC professionals from FirstMark Capital, Greycroft Partners, RRE Ventures, Highpeaks Venture Partners and many other top global investors.

The conference’s featured panel sessions are designed to provide event participants and attendees with a deeper understanding of how the NYC venture and startup ecosystems operate. These panels include:

  • What If There Weren’t VCs? Alternative Sources of Funding For Your Startup

The event will culminate on day two with the Finalist Demo Day, which will feature ten international tech startups representing the best of global innovation pitching their ventures to attending investors.

“From my personal experience as a serial entrepreneur and the author of ‘The Startup Playbook’, which profiles some of the world’s most influential entrepreneurs and the companies they transformed from startups to household names, I’ve learned that great tech startups can come from anywhere in the world, born of passion and creativity that knows no geographic boundaries,” said David Kidder. “I’m delighted to join WIN as we gather with some of the brightest minds to develop a global venture and startup ecosystem that helps unlock the full promise of international technology startups entering the United States.”

About WIN’s ‘Funding the Best in Global Innovation’ Events
Overseas startups are pioneering some of the most innovative technology in the world today, and yet most of these companies remain off the radar of the US investor ecosystem and are therefore challenged to secure the funding and support that they need to take their ventures to the next level. WIN’s ‘Funding the Best in Global Innovation’ events are designed to knock down the barriers between international entrepreneurs and NYC investors, giving overseas startups a high-profile platform to pitch their solutions to potential investors, while also giving them the opportunity to learn from the best and brightest business and investment leaders in NYC.

In preparation for these events, WIN scours the globe in search of the most promising technology startups from diverse international geographies, putting candidates through a vigorous qualification process to identify the best of the best startup contenders. Virtually unknown beyond the borders of their respective home countries, these seed-funded and A round-funded startups take the stage at WIN’s events to seek funding that will enable them to accelerate their expansion strategies, while receiving invaluable mentorship designed to streamline their assimilation into the NYC ecosystem.
