SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARUN), a leading provider of next-generation network access solutions for the mobile enterprise, and HarborLink Network, Ltd., a leading provider of public Wi-Fi networks in North America, today announced the completion of HarborLink’s managed Wi-Fi service upgrade at 350 corporate-owned restaurant locations across North America.
HarborLink chose Aruba Instant, Aruba’s controller-less Wi-Fi solution, for the restaurant deployment because of its built-in reliability, zero-touch provisioning and ease of management. “When faced with a two-week deadline for upgrading our Wi-Fi offering in 350 restaurant locations, we looked for a cost-effective, enterprise-grade solution that was simple to deploy and manage,” said Rick Tangeman, HarborLink president and CEO. “Unlike other Wi-Fi vendor solutions we considered, Aruba’s Instant platform provides a full set of features, including Adaptive Radio Management (ARM) for automated interference mitigation and Aruba Activate which reduces our deployment time by at least 75%.”
This deployment marks the first major roll-out of Aruba Networks wireless solutions for HarborLink. When complete, HarborLink will have installed Aruba’s Instant access points (IAPs) in more than 800 restaurant locations across the United States and Canada enabling free Wi-Fi access for restaurant patrons.
“We are pleased that HarborLink selected our Instant Enterprise solution for their customer’s Wi-Fi upgrade,” said Frederick Harris, head of service provider marketing, Aruba Networks. “This restaurant deployment is an excellent example of how low-cost, enterprise-class Wi-Fi can be easily and quickly provisioned as a managed service. We look forward to collaborating with HarborLink on future Wi-Fi deployments.”
