LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Cheshire Duo, LLC, an innovative marketing firm that connects advertisers to technical innovators, and Audible Magic, the leader in automated content recognition (ACR) systems and services, announced a unique Patent Pending service that extends interactive ad experiences to Face to face protocols (Skype, Face Time, etc.) calls and screens. The service, which offers TV advertisers new ways to attract consumers and new revenue opportunities for service operators as well as advertisers, will be demonstrated at the Audible Magic booth #75314 at Eureka Park at the Venetian at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas January 8-11.
The Patent Pending service (Digital Air Impressions-DAI) offered by The Cheshire Duo, LLC currently works in conjunction with a new system developed by Audible Magic, Technicolor, and Entropic Communications, which uses Audible Magic’s SmartID ACR solution to identify TV commercials shown on TV and, in real time, relay that information to other “smart” technology platforms. Specifically, The Cheshire Duo’s Digital Air Impressions (DAI) technology—which identifies video content from one “smart” device and then, to recapture the viewer’s attention, places the advertiser’s logo/graphic in a strategic, non-intrusive location within the foreground during a peer-to-peer conversation—will run on Technicolor set-top boxes (or equivalent STB) that support Skype calls. This enables advertisers both to stay at “top of mind” with consumers during their commercials and ultimately to offer TV viewers other interactive opportunities such as learning more about a product or a getting a special savings offer tailored specifically to the viewer. This also offers service operators the chance to generate additional revenues streams.
“A grand convergence is occurring in the consumer electronics world,” said Floyd Kaylor, President of The Cheshire Duo, LLC. “All the discrete devices and systems we’ve been using such as phones and TVs are connecting in all kinds of fascinating ways and generating enormous new opportunities for both companies and consumers. A key driver in this transition is ACR, the ability to recognize content and make meaningful connections between technology platforms whether they’re TVs, tablets, or Skype phones. And, we’re pleased to be working with Audible Magic, a company whose expertise and excellence in ACR is without question.”
“The ability to connect interactive advertising during Skype calls in a practical, potentially very beneficial way for advertisers and service operators is nothing less than thrilling,” added Jay Friedman, VP of Marketing for Audible Magic. With more than 600 million users worldwide, Skype represents an enormous opportunity for all these organizations. And, as new solutions such as The Cheshire Duo’s Digital Air Impressions technology evolve, and interactive advertising grows, these opportunities are going to increase exponentially. Yes, all of us with a stake in interactive advertising have many challenges ahead, but we also much to look forward to.”
