SAN FRANCISCO & ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Recall, a leader in document storage, secure document destruction, digital document management and data protection, and EVault, Inc., a Seagate Company (NASDAQ:STX), announced they have extended their strategic alliance today to include the Latin American market. Recall will begin offering a range of EVault® data backup and recovery solutions, including EVault Software, EVault Endpoint Protection, the award-winning EVault Plug-n-Protect Appliance, and the EVault Express Recovery Appliance in Brazil and Mexico.
“Recall customers in North America have found great value in EVault Software, with the end-to-end data security, centralized web-based management, broad platform support and offsite protection meeting their data protection needs,” said Tom Fetters, vice president of Data Protection, Recall. “We are confident our customers in Brazil and Mexico will find the same benefits, whether using EVault Software to protect crucial data on a server or EVault Endpoint Protection to recover essential laptop or PC data.”
Mobile computing is growing rapidly in Latin America. According to market research firm IDC, Latin Americans will buy nearly 40 million computers in 2012. This will be a 5 percent increase compared to 2011, during which Latin Americans bought 37.7 million computers. The majority of those sales are expected to be laptops, which are easily lost or stolen. EVault Endpoint Protection (EVault EP) is an integrated Cloud-Connected backup, recovery, and data security solution that protects endpoint devices such as laptops and desktops. Unlike other endpoint offerings, EVault EP controls the valuable data spread across mobile workforces. It automates “silent” laptop backups; protects data through powerful security capabilities, including local file encryption, remote data deletion, port access control, and device tracing if a laptop is lost or stolen; and enables simple, self-service restores.
“As one of the leaders in the data protection industry, Recall provides comprehensive solutions to customers looking to free up resources, meet recovery point and time objectives, and/or store invaluable media in Recall’s highly secure, temperature-controlled vaults,” said Dave Hallmen, vice president of sales and marketing, EVault. “We are very pleased to be extending our relationship to the Latin American market, and in contributing to Recall’s success in the region.”
