The Following are additional key issues the presentation will address:

  • Anatomy of Acquisition: The program will gather insight from the perspective of large multispecialty physician group on the acquisition process, critical areas of the negotiation, and alternate models hospitals could use to attract and align important large groups to their physician enterprise.
  • Easing the Transition: The lecture will build on lessons learned from both the hospital and physician side during both the negotiation and transition process, and explain how to avoid pitfalls leading up to the acquisition. of a group practice
  • Avoiding Physician Mistrust: The forum will strive to help hospitals make the group acquisition process one that builds on the relationship with the physicians and help to overcome previous trust issues between the targeted physician acquisition and the hospital.

"In today's healthcare industry, change is a common theme," Alexander said. "When large group practices are acquired, it creates a unique set of challenges, and it requires an understanding of both environments – physician and hospital to set realistic goals for this new partnership."
